YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath criticised former MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy for his comments related to the ‘coterie’ of the party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s coterie consists of his admirers and they have been serving the YSRCP for the past 15 years. Coteries exist in every field and political parties are no exception. Does not N. Chandrababu Naidu have coteries?, he asked while addressing the media on Thursday.

The YSRCP Visakhapatnam district president said that it was an irony that Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy was a member of the same coterie against which he was speaking now.

“Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy announced that he was leaving politics and would focus on agriculture. Now, he says he has not decided about joining any party,” he said.

“Had the YSRCP won in the previous elections, would people have left the party or made comments against it? It is not possible to stay in power forever in politics. Mistakes should be corrected, but it is not right to blame others. The investigating agencies will determine whether or not there was any mistake in the Kakinada seaport episode,” he said.

The YSRCP leader alleged that the NDA government had failed to deliver on promises it had made to the students and youth. He accused the ruling coalition of neglecting welfare schemes such as pensions and fee reimbursements.
