The water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 125.50 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 456 cusecs and a discharge of 1,422 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 57.61 ft. (71 ft.) with an inflow of 1,569 cusecs and a discharge of 2,099 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 5,028.18 mcft. Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Tuesday was (in mm): Sathiyar dam 1.6, Gudalur 1.2 and Madurai 0.4.
