The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested two men for allegedly cheating 14 job aspirants to the tune of ₹62 lakh on the pretext of getting employment in government departments.
The police said N. Kamalakannan, 55, of Korattur and 13 others lodged a complaint alleging that N. Delhi Kumar, 60, of Mylapore and his associate G. Mahesh, 34, of Kolathur had promised to get them jobs in various government departments on payment of a commission. The complainants paid ₹62.80 lakh, but the duo cheated them with fake appointment orders.
The investigation was taken up by the Job Racket Wing, and Delhi Kumar and Mahesh were arrested. They were remanded in judicial custody.
