Telangana Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari reviewed the situation after hailstorm hit erstwhile Adilabad and Karimnagar districts on Friday. The top official directed district administrations to be on alert and be accessible to people as rain along with strong winds was forecast for the next 48 hours. Precautions have to be taken to prevent loss of life or property. Estimated losses due to the unseasonal rains have to be reported to the government regularly.
India Meteorological Department on Friday issued an [orange] alert forecasting thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40 to 50 kmph) and hailstorm very likely to occur at isolated places in Mancherial, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Warangal, Hanumakonda and Jangaon districts on Saturday.
And a yellow alert was issued forecasting thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) very likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.
