At least six people were injured on Thursday night after being struck by a pickup truck near Water Street and Jackson Street in the Lower East Side, the New York Fire Department said.
One person was taken into custody, and several of the injured were transported to hospitals, Detective Andrew Lava of the New York City Police Department said by phone on Thursday. He said he could not provide further information, and that the investigation was ongoing.
