INDRoyal Society of Chemistry features researcher from Calicut University

Susmita De, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Calicut, has been featured in Emerging Investigators Collection, the special edition of PCCP, a journal on physical chemistry and chemical physics, brought out by the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, to mark International Women’s Day, 2025.

The special edition carries articles by women across the world conducting research in physical chemistry, chemical physics, and biophysical chemistry, either as first author or as corresponding authors, published in 2024. According to the social media page of the society, “it highlights the impact that these scientists have on their fields”. Ms. De has been with the University of Calicut since 2022, and she has earlier worked with the National Institute of Technology-Calicut and the Cochin University of Science and Technology.

Her research focuses on understanding complex molecular, biomolecular, and material systems using molecular dynamics simulations and quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical methods.
