The Soladevanahalli police cracked the murder case of a42-year-old rowdy sheeter who was hacked to death by an armed gang at a bar and restaurant on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Jayaram who was killed over gang rivalry.
Based on the CCTV camera footage, the police tracked down Uday, 19, a friend of the prime accused, near the Gollahalli railway bridge. Following Uday’s arrest, the police arrested the prime accused, Muniraju, 24, and his associates Rajesh K., 21, Yatish Gowda, 26, and Vinay Kumar, 25, from different parts of the city.
According to the police, the accused are friends of Kiran, a habitual offender who was murdered by the deceased Jayaram K. in Yelahanka in 2016 over an old rivalry. The police arrested Jayaram in this regard. He was remanded in judicial custody. After one year, Jayaram came out on bail and started a chicken stall in Chikkabommasandra for a living. .
The accused, who were associates of Kiran, hatched a plan to kill Jayaram to avenge the death of Kiran and visited the chicken shop a few times to threaten Jayaram. Uday used to follow Jayaram and update others about his movements. Jayaram, who noticed this, had discussed it with his family members, which helped the police to crack the case in record time.
