The South Central Railway (SCR) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams conducted mock drill at the Bolarum railway station where they simulated the rescue operation of 15 passengers trapped inside train coaches. The full scale mock operations saw an Accident Relief Team (ART) responding to the ‘incident’ and the railway emergency control room alerting the NDRF team for support.
The drill is meant to assess and enhance the efficiency and alertness of the staff to meet the challenges that arise during the incidents of emergency, said an official spokesperson on Thursday (March 13, 2025).

Staff from the Hyderabad division along with a 22-member team from Regional Response Centre (RRC), 10th NDRF battalion under the command of Inspector B. Gowtham Kumar, SPARMV (Self Propelled Accident Relief Medical Vans) teams carried the exercise at noon.
Various equipment procured for use during disasters like cold cutting equipment such as saber saw/abrasive cutter and others were tested. DRM Lokesh Vishnoi and other top officials were present.
New CT scan
Meanwhile, SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain inaugurated a new ₹5.43 crore CT scan facility at the central hospital for the benefit of the railway staff and help reduce the referral expenditure. He had also inaugurated a medicinal plant garden developed with 20 varieties of plants and a fast food canteen, as per a press release.
