Remand prisoner Borugadda Anil Kumar has surrendered before Rajahmundry Central Prison authorities at 6.14 a.m. on Wednesday (March 12, 2025), 13 hours after the expiry of his interim bail granted by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. On March 1, the Andhra Pradesh High Court had asked Mr. Anil Kumar to surrender before the prison authorities before 5 p.m. on March 11, 2025.

“Mr. Anil Kumar did not surrender before us before the deadline set by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He surrendered at 6.14 a.m. on Wednesday (March 12,2025) and was admitted to the prison. We will communicate with the High Court for further action for failing to surrender on time even after the expiry of his interim bail,” Rajahmundry Central Prison Superintendent S. Rahul told The Hindu.
Mr. Anil Kumar has been arrested in a case registered in the Anantapur district in connection with social media posts.
