The Chennai Corporation will set up stalls for selling hygienic and nutritious food for visitors in the parks owned by the civic body.
Mayor R. Priya on Wednesday said self-help groups will be permitted to set up food business operations for selling hygienic and nutritious food. The civic body maintains more than 700 parks in 15 zones of the city.
The civic body has identified 10 parks, including Natesan Park in ward 133, Kodambakkam zone, Bougainvillea Park in ward 102, to develop facilities for persons with disabilities.
New bus shelters
The Chennai Corporation will modernise bus stands and build new bus shelters in the city. The civic body will also modernise archives for birth and death records.
