The Coimbatore District Police have arrested a man, who stabbed a woman near Anamalai on Monday (Marc 17, 2025).
M. Murali, 35, of Dindigul district, was arrested by the police at Neelambur late on Tuesday, for stabbing his friend’s wife.
The police said that Murali had an affair with his friend’s wife for some years, before breaking up two years ago. However, he contacted the woman again and demanded her to continue the relationship, which she declined. The accused stabbed the woman at a bus stop near Anamalai on Monday morning when she was waiting for a bus to Kerala, where she has been working in a lottery stall near Tamil Nadu border, the police said.
Murali was traced to Neelambur on Tuesday and he fell from his two-wheeler, while attempting to escape. He suffered a fracture on the right lower leg and was given treatment in a private hospital, the police claimed. He was remanded in judicial custody late on Tuesday.
