Minister’s advice to parents
Madurai Sri Aurobindo Mira Universal School celebrated its 9th Annual Day at Aurobana Indian School Campus recently. Registration and Commercial Tax Minister P. Moorthy inaugurated the function. In his address, he urged the parents not to impose their desires on their children. They should identify their children’s talents and encourage them accordingly. In the evening function, Madras High Court Judge P Vadamalai and Madurai City Police Commissioner J. Loganathan participated and presented prizes to the students who won the sports competitions. Principal M.Gnanasundari proposed the vote of thanks.
Annual Day
Keren Public and Matriculation School celebrated its 9th Annual Day recently. The highlight of the event was the inspiring keynote speech delivered by the special guest, V. Irai Anbu, former Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. In his address, Mr. Irai Anbu said that recognizing that today’s children are highly intelligent, they must take responsibility for their own learning. He advised students to use social networking sites wisely, in moderation, and only for beneficial purposes. He motivated students to celebrate learning, view exams as festivals, and engage in activities that positively impact society. His speech left a lasting impression among the students, reinforcing the importance of self-motivation and moral values in education.

Thiagarajar School of Management hosted Mahesh Dharam and Anusha Mahesh Dharam, founders of Kandee Factory, a brand known for its premium, sustainably crafted confectionery products, for a session on entrepreneurship. The event featured two focused discussions – one for students on ‘Lessons from ideation to execution,’ and another with entrepreneurs on “Building a sustainable consumer brand in a competitive market.’ The event was hosted by TSM’s Entrepreneurship Cell, which has been connecting with MSMEs to strengthen the network for the Pre-Incubation Centre granted by TN Startup Tamil Nadu. The inaugural address was delivered by Murali Sambasivan, Director of TSM.
Camp at village
An extension activity on free blood group and blood pressure testing camp was organised by the Department of Microbiology, Yadava College, Madurai, at Maranivariyenthal village on February 24. K.Surya, Manager, V.Care Lab, K.K.Nagar, Madurai, had made arrangements for the camp. Earlier, K.Sendesh Kannan, HoD, welcomed the gathering. J. Jabeen, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks.
To commemorate the World Wildlife Day (March 3), the PG and Research Department of Zoology, organised a intercollegiate meet on man-animal conflict on March 6. Sixty students from various colleges participated in events like face painting, doodling, photography, mime, just a minute, short film, and quiz. ANJAC, Sivakasi, won the winner award, followed by Sivakasi Government Arts and Science College, and The American College, Madurai.
For Malaysian students
A 15-day internship programme on Advancing entrepreneurship in life sciences: bridging innovation and application’ is being conducted by The American College for the students of School of Biological Sciences, MAHSA University, Malaysia. It is being organised by the Departments of Microbiology, and Food science and Nutrition every year as per an MoU. The programme was inaugurated by Principal M. Davamani Christober. Vice Principal A. Martin David welcomed the gathering. UG HoD M. Andrew Pradeep proposed the vote of thanks.
