INDKRMB writes to Telangana, A.P. for release of funds for telemetry

HYDERABAD

The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) on Tuesday wrote to the Water Resources/Irrigation Departments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh seeking release of funds for implementation of the phase-two of telemetry system at the water drawal systems.

In a letter addressed to the two States, Member of the river board R.N. Sankhua stated that a resolution was adopted at the 19th meeting of the river board held on January 21 and accordingly release of ₹7 crore by the member States was needed to implement the second-phase of the telemetry equipment installation to enhance transparency and accuracy in the water accounting procedures.

Telangana has already written to the river board that it would release entire funds needed for telemetry installation in case A.P. adopted delaying tactics to ensure timely implementation of the system.
