Two months out of office and now both Joe Biden and Jill Biden are ready to work for the Democratic Party in times of its leadership crisis. An NBC report said that Joe Biden told some Democratic leaders that he would raise funds and do anything else to gain the lost ground and Jill Biden said she’s also ready to campaign for fellow Democrats.
But this throws the party in a quandary and the leadership is not certain whether they want the Bidens back as the wounds of the 2024 election are still fresh.
The NBC report mentioned a private meeting between Biden and Democratic National Committee chairman Ken Martin where Bideb offered to help the party. But Democrats are not convinced given the lowest approval rate of the party — after its election loss for which the party insides blame Joe Biden, his indecisiveness on whether to contest the election which left Kamala Harris a brief window to campaign in which too she had to toe Biden’s lines.
After leaving the White House, the Bidens have settled in Delaware and both of them are planning to write a book. Recently, the Donald Trump administration has ended the Secret Service protection for their children Hinter and Ashley Biden which shocked the Bidens as there was no warning about it.
Joe Biden won’t reply to Trump’s jibe. And it’s a strategy
Though Donald Trump mentions Biden several times a day, Biden would not reply to these everyday attacks, according to Biden’s advisers. They believe it’s not wise for the former president to respond publicly to every accusation Trump makes as that would make it look like a Trump versus Biden contest. Biden now wants his surrogates to respond to Trump’s attacks.
Jill Biden, the report said, has found a new role in which she comforts those who are “unnerved by the tumult in Washington”.
“She is finding herself comforting people. More and more, as she’s out and about, people come up to her who are looking for reassurance,” a person close to her told NBC.
