Five more goats were killed by stray dogs at Chennimalai here, causing panic among farmers and locals on Monday.
Subramani, 65, of Ellakadu on Uthukuli Road, owned 27 goats. On Monday morning, he heard the bleating of goats and discovered that five had been killed, while three were struggling for life. A veterinary doctor was called in, who provided treatment to the injured goats.
Sivakumar, Inspector of Police, Chennimalai, along with Land Revenue Inspector Silambarasan and Village Administrative Officers Sathish (Sirukalanji) and Elavarasu (Vaipadi), inspected the spot and conducted inquiries. Officials informed the farmer that a proposal seeking compensation had been submitted to the government.
