A 50-year-old devotee from Mohanur in Namakkal district who complained of chest pain and breathing problems while standing in the queue for darshan at Sri Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani in Dindigul district, died on Wednesday after failing to respond to treatment. It was said that he died due to cardiac arrest.
Selvamani, a part of a 12 member team, reached Palani after a darshan at Sabarimala temple. It was said that he climbed the steps of the temple and while standing in the queue for darshan, he developed chest pain and breathing problems. He was rushed to the government hospital in Palani. However, he died after failing to respond to treatment. Palani police are investigating.
