A Delhi court directed the Delhi Police earlier this week to file the supplementary chargesheet by April 2 in a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) case against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Naresh Balyan.
Mr. Balyan was arrested on December 4, 2024, in the alleged organised crime case, the day he was granted bail in an extortion case.
Special judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Courts also remanded the AAP leader 20 days of police custody on March 12 on a plea made by special public prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh.
“Special public prosecutor for the State submits that prosecution will file the supplementary chargesheet against co-accused Vijay Gahlot and Sahil shortly and requests for some time. At request, the matter is directed to be listed for further proceedings on April 2,” the court said in its March 12 order.
It added that Mr. Balyan needs to be produced before the court through video conference on the next date of hearing.
The court recently took cognisance of a supplementary chargesheet against another co-accused Ritik alias Peter.
