Students appear for the Class 11 board exams at the Lady Willingdon Higher Secondary School in Triplicane, Chennai, on Wednesday

The Class 11 State board examinations for students in Tamil Nadu began on Wednesday (March 5, 2025) with the language paper. As many as 8,23,261 candidates have registered for the exam. The language exam was held in 3,316 centres across the State.
As many as 45,000 teachers will be involved in the examination process each day, and over 4,800 flying squads have been deployed for the same.
“The paper was easy for students,” said a teacher from a government school in Triplicane.
In a social media post on X, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi congratulated the students, invigilators, officers and faculty for conducting the exams seamlessly.
