The second phase of rehabilitation package for those who lost their land and houses in the development of Kochi airport has been approved by the board of directors of Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL).
A statement from the Public Relations department on Sunday (March 16, 2025) said the second phase of the package would apply to those who did not receive sufficient support in the first phase. The release added that the second phase was approved as part of an initiative by Minister of Industries and Law P. Rajeeve, who is also the CIAL sub-committee chairman.
In the first phase, the rehabilitation package was implemented based on the educational qualifications of beneficiaries. They were provided jobs in CIAL and auxiliary entities, issued taxi permits, and granted membership in headload workers’ societies.
