Two brothers were killed on the spot when they lost control of the motorcycle they were riding and crashed into an electric pole at Anepalya junction in Ashok Nagar police station limits on Thursday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Shakil Bashir, 23, and Asalam Bashir, 22. The duo ran a hotel on Bajaj Street and were residents of Neelasandra.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-West) Anitha B. Haddannavar said that the incident happened around 4.30 a.m. Shakil was riding t vehicle when he lost control and crashed into a roadside electric pole. They sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Overspeeding is said to be the reason for the mishap and both were not wearing helmet at the time of accident.
The Ashok Nagar traffic police have shifted the bodies to Bowring Hospital and the postmortem report is awaited.
