Former President Donald Trump suggested on Friday that he might reconsider participating in a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, provided he’s “in the right mood,” CNN reported.
In his remarks, Trump expressed uncertainty about whether he would engage in another debate, stating, “I did great with the debates, and I think they’ve answered everything. But maybe if I got in the right mood, I don’t know.” He reaffirmed his current lead in the polls, adding, “Right now, I’m leading.”
When pressed by the media about what might compel him to join another debate, Trump replied, “I wouldn’t need anything.I could do it tomorrow, but I’ve done two debates,” referring to his past debate with President Joe Biden.

Earlier in the week, Trump had declared that he would not participate in another debate with Harris, asserting that he had won their previous encounter despite some polls suggesting otherwise. On Truth Social, Trump criticized Harris and the Biden administration, stating, “When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH’. Polls clearly show that I won the debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night.”
Trump further criticized the Biden-Harris administration for what he described as the “destruction” of the country, citing issues like immigration and inflation as topics already covered in detail during his debates with Biden and Harris.
In a recent post, Trump dismissed the idea of a third debate, stating, “KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
Both Trump and Harris are the official presidential nominees for their respective parties, with the U.S. presidential election scheduled for November 5. The first presidential debate took place in June between Trump and Biden, after which Biden exited the race and endorsed Harris. The debate between Trump and Harris on Tuesday marked their first meeting since Harris became the Democratic nominee.
