Former president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Thursday reacted to the speculations of independent candidate RKF Jr dropping out of the race and endorsing him. Appearing on the Fox News, Trump said Kennedy Jr is a different kind of a guy. “He is a very good person. If he endorsed me, I would be honored by it. I would be very honored by it.He really has his heart in the right place. He is a respected person. Women love some of his policies and some people don’t love some of his policies,” Trump said.
“But, overall, I thought the Democrats, he was a Democrat, I don’t know what he is right now. But he was a Democrat. They treated him very badly. I think he would have, he goes around saying he would have beaten Biden in the primary. I think there was a good chance,” Trump said.
“What they did to him is what they did to Biden. They were really harsh and threw him out. They made it impossible for him to compete in primaries because he was doing so well. I think he would have overthrown Biden because Biden is so bad,” Trump said.
Robert F Kennedy Jr will address the nation Friday about his campaign’s path forward amid speculations that he will drop out of the race and support Donald Trump. His campaign is short on resources as Kennedy’s support is also going down. Kennedy Jr’s running mate Nicole Shanahan recently dropped hints at the campaign looking at endorsing Trump — though Trump-Kennedy Jr’s last meeting on the same issue reportedly fell flat.
Shanahan said there are two options before the Kennedy campaign. “There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump,” Shanahan said on the Impact Theory podcast. “Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump … and explain to our base why we’re making this decision.”
Kennedy Jr said he is as always willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals that he served for in his political career.
