Elon Musk launched an informal poll on X, pitting Donald Trump against Kamala Harris as the next US president.
“Since a lot of people have asked, here goes a super unscientific poll … Who will you vote for?”, he asked in the post.
This poll comes as recent reports suggest a competitive race between the two candidates. While Harris has been leading in key battleground states and gaining traction among young voters, Musk’s poll reflects a significant preference for Trump among his 195.2 million followers.

This poll comes as recent reports suggest a competitive race between the two candidates. While Harris has been leading in key battleground states and gaining traction among young voters, Musk’s poll reflects a significant preference for Trump among his 195.2 million followers.
The poll, which has garnered over 1.47 million votes so far, shows Trump leading with 78.1% of the vote compared to Harris’s 21.9%.
Musk, who has expressed support for Trump in recent discussions, identified himself as a historically moderate Democrat and encouraged moderates to support Trump over current President Joe Biden.
Why it matters
Musk’s poll contrasts with recent polls indicating Harris’s growing advantage in battleground states and her record-high lead in weekly surveys. Despite Harris’s rising popularity, many business leaders view Trump as the more business-friendly choice for the 2024 election, aligning with Musk’s poll results.
