Deputy Collector found dead at home

The Deputy Collector of Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO), Tirunelveli, was found dead in his home on Tuesday.

Sources in the police said Bhaskaran, 59, of Dindigul district was working as Deputy Collector, TAHDCO, Tirunelveli. As he did not come to office on Tuesday, his colleagues repeatedly tried to reach him over the phone, but in vain. When a couple of them went to his house in Maharaja Nagar, they found the front door locked from inside.

After Bhaskaran did not respond to their call, they alerted the Tirunelveli High Ground Police, who broke the door and found him on the bed. He was rushed to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. It is suspected that Bhaskaran might have died due to a massive cardiac arrest in sleep.

Tirunelveli High Ground police have registered a case.
