Two history-sheeters were reportedly hacked to death by a group of persons near a temple in Kotturpuram late Sunday (March 17, 2025) in what appears to be a case of gang rivalry. Three special teams have been formed to trace the suspects involved in the killings, the police said.
The deceased have been identified as Arun and Padappai Suresh. They were sleeping near Nagavalli Amman temple when the gang members, who arrived on bikes, attacked the duo with knives and fled the scene, police sources said.
The sources added that Arun was reportedly planning to avenge his girlfriend’s killing, and upon learning this, his rival, ‘Sukku Coffee’ Suresh, hatched a plan with his associates and murdered Arun and his friend Padappai Suresh.
Senior police officers visited the spot and further investigation is under way.
