“Making a positive impact on the lives of marginalised communities is one of the primary objects of the Constitution and the International Day for Women reminds us of accelerating action towards that end”, said Madurai District Collector M.S. Sangeetha.
She distributed welfare measures to women entrepreneurs at an event jointly organised by Arogya Welfare Trust, in the presence of its founder trustee Shobhana Ramachandran, Kalpataru Trust and Gandhigram Trust on Thursday.
The Collector inaugurated Gandhigram Product Outlet of personal care items, food products, nutritional supplements, homecare essentials, and khadi dress materials produced by rural women.
Welfare schemes were also distributed to differently abled children and persons during the event.
