The students of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) secured first place in the group song category and second place in the solo category in Western music at the recently concluded National Inter-University Youth Festival.
The events, organised by the Association of Indian Universities, were held at Amity University, Noida.
Diya Anna Augustine, a third-year student at the School of Legal Studies, won second place in the individual category of Western music, repeating her achievement from the previous edition of the festival. The Cusat team achieved the feat under the guidance of Joseph Linton Daruja, according to a communication issued by S. Aparna Lakshaman, cultural coordinator of the university.
In the debate competition, Nada Ayesha, a final-year MBA student, and S. S. Nanda Kumar, a third-year student at the School of Engineering, secured third place.
Ms. Ayisha and D. S. Vishnumaya, a third-year student at the School of Engineering, finished fourth in the elocution and classical dance competitions, respectively, the communication added.
